“Tell me Mr. Grognard the
Slaughterer, why do you want to join our company?” The interviewer in the
wizard robe asked.
“Well, me always want be Wizard
since I was boy,” the much larger and well-muscled Grognard answered, “but
grades not good enough, so had be barbarian instead. Me spend last two years as
shaman apprentice in order get more magic experience, so Grognard finally be
wizard now.”
“Well I’m sorry Mr. Grognard,” the
interviewer adjusted their glasses, “but your INT score is a little low for our
needs. Besides, we normally require a degree from a wizard college.”
“Me afraid of that,” Grognard
sighed.
“Well, don’t give up yet,” the
interviewer assured, “while we can’t hire you as a wizard, we could hire you as
a druid or shaman. How does that sound?”
“That sound good, magic all same to
Grognard anyway,” the barbarian admitted.
“Well, your shaman apprenticeship
will go a long way in helping you secure this position,” the interviewer
explained. “Do you have any other relevant experience in the field?”
“Grognard did have spiritual
experience in druid circle once,” he revealed, “but me not sure if that was own
doing or what put in soup they served that day.”
“Let’s just put that down as,
druidic studies,” the interviewer noted, “anything else?”
“Well there was time in Barbarian
academy,” Grognard rubbed his chin, “commune with spirits, was elective class.
Spirits not like Grognard much though.”
“I’m sure we can work something out
regardless,” the interviewer assured. ‘This is going to be a long night,’ they
thought to themselves.
