Experiment Log
Day #001
Subject arrive this morning, it has
made no response to outside stimuli. Even a cursory glance can confirm it is
still alive, so most of my colleagues concluded it is merely scared. An
understandable reaction, if the reports are accurate, we may be among the first
humans to interact with this strange being. Second only to the two who
recovered it in the first place. We’d get their input, but they’re both still
in intensive care.
Experiment Log
Day #007
The Subject has only now begun to
rouse, taking only the occasional glance at us before curling back up. Further
results pending.
Experiment Log
Day #009
The Subject has finally responded to
outside stimuli, although it was not intentional on our part. One of my young
colleagues wandered a bit too close to its cage. The response was quite
violent, but the cage held firm. Still, we pulled that poor boy out of the way
to be safe. A few steps closer, and he might have joined our two friends in the
hospital.
Experiment Log
Day #014
Unfortunate news, one of the two who
made the first contact with the creature died in the hospital last night. It
seems his wounds became infected by an unknown growth. They say it was a
fungus, but I looked at the pictures, and it didn’t appear like any fungus I’ve
seen. On a related note, no one had the stomach to eat lunch today.
Experiment Log
Day #016
The other passed away mere hours
ago, the same growths. He was thankfully conscious for his last few hours, so
we learned what we could. In-between the screams of pain, he revealed that the
growths he suffered from were also seen in the creature’s den. Perhaps a
symbiotic relationship? Maybe it naturally produces this strange “fungus?”
Experiment Log
Day #034
The Subject has been more active,
but no less aggressive. Its diet seems to be quite extensive, as no matter what
we put in its cage, it will consume it. Red meats, white meats, leafy greens,
eggs, fish, even the feeding dish itself. Concerns have been raised over it,
eating the bars to its cage, so extra precautions have been taken. It is
doubtful than even an extreme omnivore like the Subject would eat the bars now
that they’re electrified.
Experiment Log
Day #048
The Subject has become much more
passive. It no longer snaps at anything that comes remotely close to its cage.
We may finally get a chance to study it up close. I’ve been eager to measure
those claws.
Experiment Log
Day #049
We were mistaken, it is no less
aggressive than before. The creature waited until we were much closer than
before and then attacked. The electrified bars stopped it, but it still injured
one of my colleagues. The wound was very deep, but with foreknowledge of the
growths, we should be able to save their life.
Experiment Log
Day #062
My colleague survived at the cost of an
amputated arm. Their sacrifice will not be in vain as we will have a chance to
study this growth in more detail. Otherwise, the Subject has returned to
curling itself up and ignoring any stimulus.
Experiment Log
Day #084
The growth on the arm has been quite
strange, growing entirely out of control, like mushrooms on a log. It is
fascinating in its own way, I can only wonder what else this creature is
capable of.
Experiment Log
Day #087
My younger colleague claims he saw
the arm twitch last night, I told him to go home and get some sleep. I
understand his paranoia; the beast has undoubtedly proved itself dangerous, to
him especially. However, he should know that his mind was playing tricks on him
in the middle of the night after a long shift.
Experiment Log
Day #092
The arm is gone, not taken, just
gone. Security footage showed it move away on its own. The Subject has remained
in “hibernation” for lack of better term.
Experiment Log
Day #093
After what happened with the arm, we
contacted the morgue to find out what happened to the bodies of our two
deceased. We learned to our horror that the bodies have been missing for some
time now.
Experiment Log
Day #097
The arm and bodies are still
missing, the Subject has remained unresponsive.
Experiment Log
Day #???
How long has it been, days, weeks,
months? We have found nothing and only learned of more and more new horrors.
The arm is no longer a simple limb, it has grown into something more, I can
only imagine what the bodies are like. It resembles the Subject it superficial
ways but lacks the claws. All attempts to capture it have ended in failure.
The Subject has remained silent during
all this. The higher-ups are pressuring us to do something, even if that means
killing it. I only managed one reaction out the creature this whole time. At my
most frantic and frustrated, I lost myself and screamed in front of the
Subject. For the first time in so very long, it looked up at me, its eyes
trained on my own, and smiled. Never before have I felt so much terror in my
heart.
Experiment Log
Day #---
Make it stop, just let the pain end
already. We should have...should have...should have...should...should...sh....s.........

The problem with trying to learn about something you don't understand are the unknown dangers it may present. You must ask yourself if the danger is worth the risk, the answer varies. (In hindsight, it's more of an observation log than an experiment log.)
