Eclectic Narratives - Discomfort

>>>~~~~<<<

That feeling, the terrible feeling, that indiscernible feeling, that uncertain feeling.

Are you sick or just stressed?

Is it the sign of something real or imagined?

Do you have a problem, or do you only think there’s one?

Is that discomfort from a new or unknown issue?

Or did you create one with one too many anxious thoughts?

No matter what you do, it doesn’t seem to go away.

Is it because there’s something wrong or because you can’t convince yourself otherwise?

All one can do is wonder until the answer reveals itself.

Maybe as the days tick by, you suddenly feel so much better.

Maybe it all really was in your head.

Every symptom only grew worse when you thought it did.

Every pain, every sore, every pang of nausea, all originating from your paranoid mind.

Now, if only you could convince yourself of that.

>>>~~~~<<<

Ailments comes, goes, lingers and returns. You never know which you get until you ride it out.

Author's Note: Inspired by my on and off bouts with random health problems that while they are overall minor are annoyingly persistent and might be mostly stress or strained muscles from improper workouts (or both).

Until next time, Read, Comment and Enjoy.

Eclectic Narratives - Eventual (Last Minute) Replacement

>>>~~~~<<<

Sometimes replacement is a matter of diligence.

One cannot expect anything to last indefinitely.

Not a battery, a car part, a screw, or even that one person with a forever job.

The battery will eventually die or swell.

The car part will eventually break down and erode.

The screw will eventually rust or break.

The person will eventually retire or move on to a different job.

You can’t just ignore that inevitable future, you must prepare for it, deal with it, face it.

Have spare batteries on hand.

Buy a replacement battery when the current one fails.

Send your car to the shop regularly.

Keep up with those sensitive car parts that always need replacing.

While checking every screw may be impossible, never ignore any bad ones you find.

When a screw breaks, replace it.

Always have a plan in place for when that one person isn’t around.

Always be ready to start training the replacement, or, better yet, have an understudy on hand.

If you don’t, what do you think will happen?

What will happen when that battery dies right when you need that device?

What will happen when that swollen battery corrodes, or worse, explodes?

What will happen when that import part fails mid-drive?

What happens when a simple replacement turns into a full operation?

What will happen when the next screw breaks and nothing has been replaced?

What will happen when that one screw breaks and the whole thing comes down?

What will happen when that one person gets sick?

What will happen when that one person gets hit by a bus?

Prepare to replace anything.

Not because you want to.

Not because “you need to make it better.”

Not to save money.

Not to make money.

But because one day you might need to.

Better to replace under ideal circumstances than to replace during a panic.

Alas, you already know the horrible truth.

Not everyone will listen.

So, prepare for panic.

>>>~~~~<<<

Planning on when and how you replace things, like batteries, or screws or employees, is an important factor in maintaining continuity and preventing sudden but preventable problems. So naturally no one is going to implement such a plan until you've already had a sudden but preventable problem (or four) occur.

Until next time, Read, Comment and Enjoy.

Eclectic Narratives - Didn't Make It

>>>~~~~<<<

Sometimes you just don’t make it.

Time slips away.

Days zip by.

Tomorrow becomes today and then yesterday.

Plenty of time became no time at all.

Goals were failed, targets missed.

You had so many grand ideas and so much time to do them.

But you never realize how little time you actually had.

Sadly, this just happens.

At the end of the day, it’s okay.

Sometimes you take a shot, and you miss.

But at least you shot your shot.

You didn’t do what you wanted, but you did do something at least.

And often, what you wanted to do is still there for you to do.

Sometimes, sadly, you only get the one chance, and then you blow it.

But other times, you just have to wait for the opportunity to present itself again.

It may be tomorrow, it may be a decade from now.

Be patient, keep on working as you do, or even a little harder if you can.

You may have more chances than you think.

>>>~~~~<<<

Sometimes you just don't make it, and that's just how things turn out.

Author's Note: Aka, my admittance that I still haven't finished the next chapter of Maid in Fantasy. It's still a work in progress, but at least I got some actual work done on it last week. I was hoping to be finished with the next chapter by the end of the year, but it wasn't meant to be. Hopefully, I can get it and my other story ideas out into the world during the next year. Not an unreasonable goal.

Until next time, Read, Comment and Enjoy.
