A nostalgic feeling is a powerful thing.
Triggered by music, a scene, or just a simple word, nostalgia comes one way or another.
Sometimes it is a simple longing for the times of the past.
The hunger for a favorite treat you haven’t indulged in since childhood.
The desire to return to an event or place that no longer exists, like an old playground or fair.
The urge to play an old game or pastime you haven’t touched in years.
Other times it is overwhelming and emotional.
Old tears from a sad event brought back to the surface.
An extreme feeling associated with the end of a chapter in your life.
Or maybe something as simple as a well-crafted ending to your favorite story.
Nostalgia is such a powerful force it feels like your thoughts linger upon it forever.
It is so great, the entire backbone of the entertainment industry is built upon it.
The sensation is so prevalent, some relentlessly chase it like a phantom.
Nostalgia is a great thing, a terrible thing, an incredible thing.
Do not let it consume you.
Do not let it trick or delude you.
But do not reject it either.
A warm, happy feeling is not something to be discarded carelessly.
Do not clutch it like a madman, but caress it gently like the blanket it is.
Wrap yourself in it, but do not lose yourself in it.
Enjoy the feeling and recharge yourself so you may face forward and make new memories.
