Where Is Here?
Where is here? What is here?
It’s a place so nostalgic yet unmemorable.
It’s a place so familiar yet so very alien.
I’ve seen it before somewhere, I know the feeling of walking through its halls.
Yet, I’ve never set foot in such a place before, all these sensations are new and strange.
Am I beyond where I should be or between what is and what isn’t?
Am I lost beyond hope or merely inches from salvation?
Even the most familiar of places could become unrecognizable from the right perspective.
Going up a road you’ve only been down.
Taking a turn you’ve never explored before.
Exploring a familiar place during an unusual time.
An empty mall, an abandoned school, an old forgotten room.
A passage between two places, one without meaning on its own.
These places, these spaces, what do they mean?
Are they just tricks of our brains confused by sights that are just slightly wrong?
Or do they have some deeper meaning that only our subconscious can decipher?
Whatever the case, I hope to learn that here soon.
I still need to find out what here even is.
