Enigmatic Fantasies #38 - Opus (Prior Half) [#109]

~~~~
           Beyond thought and dreams lies the world Opus, a place of artists and musicians, of masters and connoisseur. If you think you’ve seen art that captures reality perfectly and you’ve never been to Opus, then you are wrong. Artistry is life in Opus, its people live and breathe it every moment of their lives. Their art is not merely beautiful, but it is magical, every brushstroke, every drop of paint and every note of music is infused with magical energy. Just as wizards cast spells with a chant and a gesture, the people of Opus weave spells with brushes, pencils and the chords of instruments. If you’ve ever wished to see true beauty than look no further.
            If you would walk down a street in an average city in Opus, you might notice the intricate stonework that lines every street. How each building is unique, as though every brick was filled with the architect’s heart and soul. Perhaps you’ll notice the scent of paint and ink that hangs in the air or the painters and sketch artists who sit on every street corner. If you were to enter a restaurant and purchase a cup of coffee, you would be treated to a spectacle as your drink is constructed with a theatric flair. Once you take a sip, your mouth would be assaulted from all sides by a unique flavor, one that has likely never been tasted before. As you enjoyed your beverage, you’d feel the thoughts and feelings of the one who constructed it for you. As you see the practitioners of the culinary arts in Opus like to put a little bit of themselves into each dish they create, sometimes literally.
            As a world of the Arts, you might ask where the best museums and galleries in the world might be found, but if you asked a resident, they’d simply laugh. To them, the whole world is one expansive gallery. Every laid stone, every prepared meal, every person, and each blade of grass is something to be appreciated. While you might see the wisdom in this statement, do not misunderstand, when they say everything is a piece of art, they are quite literal. Do not forget, every piece of art is created by an artist.
            You must remember Opus is not just a world of art, it is a world where art is magic. Take for instance, the story of Capris the painter, who portrayed many natural visages on his canvas. He shaped a great deal of Opus’ landscape, as each stroke of his brush warped the landscape into his perfect image. If you ever encounter a set of rolling green hills, picturesque forest or perfectly round lake in Opus, then offer your thanks to Capris.
            There is also the tale of Orthando, an oil painter who created portraits. His last and most celebrated work was a self-portrait he poured his heart and soul into. Alas, he perished shortly after the painting was completed, but dear Orthnado was immortalized by his work. If you every visit Opus take some time to visit his portrait, I hear he is quite riveting for conversation.
            If you were to think Opus was limited to physical mediums than do not fret, there are plenty of musicians, actors and other professionals within Opus. For example, there was the great Alastar a master musician taken before his time, for you see, he composed the perfect lullaby. Sadly, his sweet melody was so beautiful that he put himself into an eternal sleep, one he has yet to awaken from. There is also the incredible actor Sir Dalethorn; however, he goes by the name Rylix now. He was a true method actor, and his last role was of the brave knight Rylix. However, he dove so deep into the role he could not break character, he is a fine knight, however.
            If I have piqued your interest then why not come visit? Opus is a world unlike any other, you are sure to never forget your stay. Do not fear what could happen, embrace your inner creative, and find your own masterwork. Enjoy your stay, just don’t lose sight of yourself...
