This takes place sometime after Chapter XVIII of Maid in Fantasy.

“What even is that?” Serena asked as she observed the little baggy full of small metal fragments. She had no idea why Aré had taken her to this secluded backroom in the palace’s armory.
“It’s the bullet they fired at you and Irene,” Aré revealed. “You know, from the restaurant?”
“Oh,” the revelation hit Serena in a slow wave. It started as nothing more than a flat acceptance. But as the idea that the little piece of metal could have taken her or the princess’s life soaked into her mind, the weight of realization slammed the maid. “Why are you showing me this?” She tried to hide her reaction.
“I want you to come to terms with it,” Aré explained. “It won’t be the last time something threatens you or the princess’s life.” The noblewoman stepped towards Serena, “you don’t have to process it all right now, but I ask that you mull over it in the near future.”
“Why, so I understand that my life hangs on the razor’s edge?” Serena guessed. It certainly felt like that to her sometimes, with the assassins, crashing vehicles, gravity reversing, and the freaking dinosaurs.
“No,” Aré shook her head. “So that you remember what you’re capable of and what you’ve accomplished in a short time. You’re the reason that bullet didn’t take a life.”
“Lady Aré?” Serena was taken aback.
“I expect great things from you, maid,” Aré walked away. “You certainly have big shoes to fill.” Serena was left alone with the bullet in her hand. It felt heavier than she expected, but not in a bad way.
